In 2024, the Chalmers Foundation announced a $1.3 million initiative to enhance and expand the Cancer Support Program, aiming to provide free and accessible community-based services to individuals with lived-cancer experience and their caregivers within Area 3 of the Horizon Health Network.

This program is designed to address the emotional, social, physical, and practical challenges of those facing cancer through offerings of exercise & movement, education & self-development, symptom management, and peer support programs. By expanding these services, the Cancer Support Program aims to provide comprehensive support that helps to improve the quality of life for all participants.
