Community Raises Over $66,000 for Cancer Support at Sold-Out White Glove Dinner
A Unique Evening for Cancer Support Unites Community Members for a Common Cause

Fredericton, NB – A sold-out White Glove Dinner, hosted by local McDonald's owners Bob and Jan Chisholm, turned heads and warmed hearts as the community gathered for a gourmet McDonald’s experience with one powerful goal: raising funds for the Chalmers Foundation’s Cancer Support Program. Thanks to an overwhelming show of support, this year’s event raised $66,430—proceeds that will directly support cancer patients and their families right here in our region.

With live music, celebrity servers, and a menu featuring classic McDonald’s favourites like Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, the event offered a memorable way for community members to contribute to a vital cause. Held on October 29, the dinner transformed the McDonald’s location on Prospect Street into an elevated dining venue, where attendees from the community gathered to make a difference.

Community Leaders Step Up to Serve

Presented by Riverview Ford Lincoln, the White Glove Dinner featured several celebrity servers, including singer-songwriter David Myles, Fredericton’s Police Chief Gary Forward, and Fire Chief Dwayne Killingbeck. Adding a personal touch to the event, one server, Dave Morell, has a deeply personal connection to cancer: he’s currently living with the disease himself. For his daughter Angie Morell Kennedy, Program Manager, Cancer Support at the Chalmers Foundation, the event was a particularly meaningful evening.

“My dad, Dave, has been a huge inspiration in my journey to support cancer patients through this program,” Angie shared. “Seeing our community rally around this cause, including him as a server, shows just how powerful and connected Fredericton really is.”

Local Business and Community Spirit Make It Happen

Bob and Jan Chisholm have organized this annual event over the past two years, contributing to more than $100,000 to the Foundation. The Chisholms created an evening to remember, with special live music from renowned violinist and violist Natalia Delacroix adding elegance to the night.

“The energy and generosity we saw last night were truly inspiring,” said Bob Chisholm. “From friends and family to our local leaders, everyone showed up to serve and support cancer patients, and it’s a testament to the strength of our community.”

McDonald’s Staff after the Event

The funds raised will support key resources within the Chalmers Foundation’s Cancer Support Program, which provides essential services such as peer support, exercise classes, relaxation therapy, and educational resources to individuals and families navigating cancer treatment.

Building a Support Network for Cancer Patients in Fredericton

Charles A. Diab, CEO of the Chalmers Foundation, shared his gratitude: “Thanks to events like this, our Cancer Support Program can continue to provide much-needed resources to those in our community affected by cancer. We’re so grateful to Bob and Jan Chisholm, their staff and everyone who made this evening possible.”

Events like the White Glove Dinner make a powerful statement about the strength of community support.
