Radiothon for Cancer Support

Radiothon for Cancer Support

Radiothon is Back!

For years, our community has tuned in, called in, and shown up — because when it comes to local healthcare, our region shows up for its own. This May, we’re doing it again.

Join us May 8 & 9 for the Chalmers Radiothon on HOT 93.1 and New Country 92.3 — and help us fund free Cancer Support programs for people right here in our community.

When & Where

On Air:

  • Friday, May 8 — 7 AM to 6 PM on HOT 93.1 and New Country 92.3
  • Saturday, May 9 — 10 AM to 3 PM on HOT 93.1 and New Country 92.3

In Person: Join us at Regent Mall for live entertainment, activities for kids, and the chance to give your donation in person. Come out, bring the family, and be part of something meaningful.

This Year, We’re Raising Funds for Cancer Support

The Chalmers Foundation Cancer Support program is a free, ongoing program for anyone in our region living with cancer — and for the people who love and support them.

At the Chalmers Foundation Care & Support Centre, participants find connection, resources, and a community that understands. There is no cost to access this program. Ever.

Your donation helps make sure it stays that way.

“I honestly don’t know how people managed before the Care & Support Centre opened. Everyone there gets it, everyone there is going through the same thing or has gone through the same thing. It’s become my safe space, I’m very comfortable there and I feel very supported.” – Kelly McGuire, Cancer Support Participant

“The Chalmers Foundation Care & Support Centre is a place where you don’t have to explain yourself. They already get it. It’s a place where you can shed the weight of a cancer diagnosis and recharge.” – Susan Morell, Peer Support Volunteer

“Stay Strong helps them feel better and get back to what’s important for them. [The program] also provides them with social support in a non-clinical environment. They’re out there trying, exercising and making those changes. It’s inspiring.” – Jessica Vezeau, Physiotherapist and Stay Strong Program Leader

“Community cancer care particularly helps patients see that they’re not the only person going through a cancer experience and they also really do not need to go through it alone. [The Care & Support Centre] may demystify the whole cancer experience when you compare it to the clinical experience of the hospital.” Dr. Amber Swan, General Practitioner of Oncology
