Adaptive Bikes Bring Joy and Freedom to Kids like Jérémie

In April 2024, Horizon Health Network’s Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation (SCCR) hosted its Bikes & Trikes Clinic, bringing smiles, freedom, and new opportunities to children like Jérémie.

Jérémie is a survivor of a brain tumor named Medulloblastoma with metastasis in the spinal cord, a 4-grade cancer. He was diagnosed at 3-years-old in 2014. He experienced a relapse in 2015 and finished his treatment in 2018. Now, Jérémie is 14 years old. He is a happy child who enjoys life even if he has to deal with several cognitive and physical after-effects.

Thanks to his new tricycle, Jérémie feels safe while he pedals his bike. His balance issues are no longer a problem with his new bike.

Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation’s Bikes & Trikes clinic provides customized adaptive bikes, designed specifically to meet each child’s physical needs, offering both rehabilitative benefits and the simple joy of being active outdoors. Thanks to his new bike, Anderson will enjoy a summer filled with movement, fresh air, and fun. For families like his, the impact of this clinic is truly life-changing.
