Truth & Reconciliation Day: Orange Shirt Fundraiser

Every September 30, we pause to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never came home, and recommit to the path of reconciliation. This Truth and Reconciliation Day, Chalmers Foundation is proud to raise funds for Indigenous Health programming at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital through our Orange T-Shirt fundraiser.

Every shirt sold helps us build a healthcare system that is more connected, more compassionate, and more accessible for Indigenous people in our community.

About the Fund

Proceeds from this fundraiser support Indigenous Health programming, which helps ensure Indigenous people receive care that is culturally safe, respectful, and centred on the whole person — mind, body, and spirit.
Funds raised help support initiatives such as:

Indigenous Patient Navigators — dedicated points of contact who help Indigenous people and their families access care, connect with traditional healing approaches, and feel supported throughout their health care journey
Smudging ceremonies — available to people and families who request them, guided by a policy developed in close consultation with Elders and Indigenous community members
Sacred medicines — sage, sweetgrass, and cedar, made available during hospital stays to support cultural and spiritual wellbeing
Cultural safety education — helping our care teams build the knowledge and relationships needed to provide respectful, informed care
