Making a difference for generations to come

Legacy Giving, also referred to as "Planned Giving", simply stated means deciding and taking the steps to make a gift to the Foundation. The commitment to make the gift is made at the present time, while the actual transfer of the gift normally takes place at some point in the future. Legacy gifts are usually made in the form of bequests stated in your Will, Annuities, Gifts of Property, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Gifts of Life Insurance and/or Endowment gifts.

A legacy gift to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation will help to ensure that funds will be available to guarantee continued excellence in the delivery of quality patient and health care for patients at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Why should I leave a legacy gift?  Essentially, this type of gift to the Foundation contributes to a brighter future in health care. Legacy giving represents an opportunity for you to make a lasting contribution that will maintain and sustain quality patient and health care for many future generations of families who live in the Horizon Health Network Fredericton Zone.

What are the benefits of leaving a legacy gift? Whether your reasons are altruistic or simply tax related, the benefits of legacy giving are powerful.  You have the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference to  health care. You have the peace of mind that family and financial matters are resolved privately. You have the security of finalizing your charitable choices now instead of later. Many people postpone or never realize their charitable goals. And last but never least, the financial benefit to you the donor is that you can lower your current taxes and/or lower the taxes your estate will be required to pay. Leaving a legacy through careful planning allows you the time to make solid, well thought-out decisions and it allows you to give now, not just after death.

There are many different ways to make a planned gift- find out how.
